KUALA LUMPUR, 21 April - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today launched the Public Housing Redevelopment Project 1Razak Mansion which will benefit 658 people. Simultaneously, he also announced a windfall to the population through three incentives including 557 existing tenants will receive a new home for free, while the 101 tenants of the sale price offered RM42,000 to RM250,000 compared with the market price . In addition, the Prime Minister told the stamp duty amounting to 4,000 new housing is subsidized and fully funded with grant money remuneration of RM3,000 to the 557 existing tenants . " Housing is close to my heart because of the late Tun Abdul Razak had set foot here and the next he 's opening the Public Housing Razak Mansion about 47 years ago . " The redevelopment will create a more modern and comfortable environment . We hope that good faith will be successfully implemented without any hindrance from any party , " he said when launching the project today . Present Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor , Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur , Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib and Executive Chairman Impianika Development Sdn . Bhd . , Commissioner Jeff B. K. Lee . The project will involve the construction of 658 housing units overall , 23 stores , 110 supermarket with lots of amenities such as a small office ; halls ; prayer ; kindergarten ; residents' association office ; police post and a funeral . In the meantime , he said , public housing is to be given a facelift as it is not significant when the government tried to make Kuala Lumpur a world class city , there is still ailing housing . At the same time , he said , the government's willingness to redevelop the housing it is a manifestation of the commitment to provide comfort to people regardless of whether they live in rural or urban . He said the commitment shown by the various programs introduced by the government to provide RM100 million to the 1Malaysia Maintenance Fund for the maintenance and repair of low cost houses . " The provision does not include additional funds of RM82 million channeled to restore as many as 20 abandoned housing projects involving 8,197 houses , " he said
